The sun was beating down on a small cove near the ocean, and waves lapped at the shore. The sun's bright beams were reflected by the water back up into the atmosphere. One reflection stood out, a german shepherd was lying patiently on a large rock.
Axis lifted her head to gaze out across the ocean, it had been a while since she had heard the fighting, but everyday she came to this spot hoping to find the handsome border collie she had seen only days before. But each day, he was gone somewhere else. She had seen him once since the fight, but he had disapeared as soon as she had come.
Axis looked up into the bright blue sky and sighed happily, she had to be padding after some ghost. The others in her pack said she was going insane, but she wasnt going to listen to them. She had smelt the brute's blood and seen the doberman who had attacked him. She should have been padding after a dog in her own pack, seeing as he could have been a rouge or a dark.
Axis shivered. Somehow, she couldn't see the brave dog as being a dark. Normally, a german shepherd would have been larger than a border collie, but she was small. Most called her a dwarf, she stood a bit smaller than a border collie. Axis sighed and gazed up at the sun, blinking away the sleep from her beautiful eyes.

A silver colored husky popped his head up out of the salty water, it was Mick. His mouth was full with a salty fish. He pricked his ears, and trotted over to Axis. He dropped the fish at her paws and then loped back onto the sand. "You look like somthings on your mind." he said. He looked at her with curious eyes. Mick shook his silvery pelt, icy droplets flinging off his pelt.

"I saw somthing, thats all." She murmered quietly, staring into the sunrise with darkened eyes. "Do you know of another pack near here?" She asked, turning her head to Mick. "One with a border collie in it?" She guessed he might not know, but she wanted to find this male and the dog he had been fighting.

Mick stretched out his front paws while yawning. "Hmm... I know of a few." He quickly went through the lists. "There's a big wolf with a pretty collie mate. And there's a wack job border collie in the city... Mmm, Zephyr is it?" He padded back to the rock, "Why?"

Axis looked down. "Wack job...? Oh, I saw two dogs fighting... A large doberman and some odd border collie. The collie won and I've been hoping to see him again and ask why he was fighting his own packmate." The german shepherd blinked and looked at Mick, her tail wagged a bit.

"that's the guy. He's a-that-a-way." He said pointing his nose to the east. "Are you gonna scope him out?"

Axis glowered at him for a moment. "Of course not." She growled, turning her head back towards the sunrise, which was now a bit higher in the sky. She tipped her head to one side to show the glimmering silver collar that had been placed on her when she was little. "In the city..." She mumbled. "Isn't that where the dark ones live too?" She knew the dark ones lived in the city, and she guessed Mick had meant that they lived in a city, and maybe the forest. But then, why would Zephyr and the other dog been here? Its so far from both places, her brows furred in thought.

Mick's ears slid back and he inched back while whining softly. "Well why not? That would be... interesting. I've only been to the city a few times." Mick gave up trying to pressure her into going. Instead he dove back into the water, picking up fish, then letting them slid through his jaws.

Axis blinked. "You want to go? Seriously?" she asked in sudden disbeleif. Her tail twitched and she watched him dive in, then spoke to no one. "It's not that I don't want to go, I just don't want to get mixxed in with any darks." She growled, her tail flicking back and forth.

Mick loped out of the water with another silver fish in his jaws. He gnawwed at it's fin then tossed it into the air and swallowed it. He shook his pelt, "the dark? Oh that big doberman?" Mick shook his head, "No one can beat that thing. I don't even think it's a canine." He joked. He plopped down in the hot sand, suddenly tired from swimming.

Axis blinked. "I meant Myph, have you heard of him?" She looked at the fish still at her paws and chewed it a bit, then froze. "Big doberman?" She asked, turning her head to Mick. "You don't think it's a canine? Why's that?" She asked again, trying to hide her shock and look interested instead. She wanted Mick to tell her all he knew about this 'dark.

"Eh, he's got some serious issues. Faught a the collie over there a little while ago. I don't knwo who won, but that dog fights for lives. But who knows, maybe the collie got away... I doubt it, but it's possible." Mick rubbed his head into the sand. "Er... Atlas, yeah. He's got one heck of a kick."

Axis blinked. "Atlas... One heck of a kick? You fought him?" She asked. If he fought the dog and got away, that meant that maybe Zephyr had gotten away. Things were slowly clicking into place with the story, she sat up and leaped off the rock, the fish in her mouth. She stretched out on her stomach and grinned, again chewing the fish.

Mick exploded into laughter. "No! Are you crazy? No one in their right mind would fight that thing! I've learned from watching. One pit bull was killed by one kick. Got 'em right in the gutt. Ugly thing didn't have a chance." Mick shook his pelt and rolled in the sand, "Your not thinking of fighting him are you?" Mick felt a sudden burst of panick at the thought of his Axis fighting that beast. He'd grown to become quite fond of her, she was like his sister. He looked at her face again, "What are you thinking, Axis?"

Axis watched him explode in laughter, it wasn't funny. Her ears went back a bit as he asked if she was going to fight him. "Now whos crazy? I just want some background information on him... I am going to find out why he was fighting with that border collie." She turned her gaze to stare at Mick softly, her brown eyes shimmered softly. "I have a feeling that dog is bad news..."
