Two border collies walked silently, side by side, red and gold. The larger of the two, a red border collie, lifted her head and scented the air. The smaller of the two, a golden looking collie, raised her head too, her chocolate eyes glimmering. A silent look passed between them and both took off like rockets, their tails streaming out behind them as they shot over the side of the mountain. The red collie, Zeeba, took the lead and charged along the side of a cliff. Zuri, the gold one, exploded after her.
Both dogs had hard pads from their constant mountain climbing and their fur was thick to hold in warmth when in the cold. Both kept their paces up, two rapid shots racing across the hill side.
When they reached the small town on the hill side, they both stopped short. Zuri raised her hackles and snarled, Zeeba rolled her yellow eyes and looked around, bored. Zuri was about a year younger than Zeeba, and a rascal. She was the prettier of the two, but Zeeba was the most desired. She was wise, calm and somtimes spoke in riddles; somthing she picked up from her brother, Zephyr.
Zeeba and Zephyr were in the same litter, while Zuri and Zahya were in a litter born a year later. Their mother, Zenba, had a thing for Z names and their farther approved of it. Though they had all gone their seperate ways, they did see each other around. Zephyr had drifted farthest away from his siblings, while Zuri and Zeeba stayed close together. Zahya didn't normally come around, but they somtimes saw a glimpse of their beautiful blue merle sister running around with others.
Zuri was the pup of the siblings, Zephyr the loner/drifter, Zeeba the calm and smart, and Zahya the other drifter, but much closer to Zephyr than the others. They had their own little 'groups'; Zuri and Zeeba, and Zephyr and Zahya. Zeeba glanced around as she heard a twig snap...

Seth cursed under his breath as he stepped on a twig. His long black body easily sized them, but he kept his vibrant eyes kind and beautiful fur calm. He bowed his head, "greetings." He grinned, slightly displaying his pearly white canines. He straitened himself, his large chest puffing out slightly. (I'm sorry! I just I couldn't forget Sethy!) He grinned at the pretty females. "You're new on these lands, correct?" He shook his full mane. "Me too. I'm looking for my brother Dianu." He explained while looking down the mountain. He didn't really bother with waiting for their answer, he was pretty sure they werent here before. His piercing gold eyes were intensified as the setting orange sun hit them.

Zeeba lowered her head and glared at the wolf, it was a wolf! She blinked when he spoke and relaxed quiet a bit. "We are also looking for our brother." She said slowly, casting a glance at Zuri who had leaped over to the wolf and was sniffing him curiously.
Zuri smiled and leaped over to Seth, she pushed her nose to his and Zeeba growled. "I've never met a wolf before! I'm Zuri," she looked a Zeeba. "That grouch is Zeeba!" He tail wagged as she looked up at the large wolf, her chocolate eyes glimmering lightly.
Zeeba rolled onto her stomach and grinned a bit. "Pardon her, she's still a young one at heart." Zeeba smiled, flicking the dirt with her tail.

Seth laughed, "If only you had seen my old pack..." his gaze dulled. He shoved the thought away and started down the mountain again. "Coming? I want ot get there before dark." His huge paws spread out when they touched the rocks that lined the mountain. He looked back at the border collies with interested eyes. They were so curious, he laughed again and quickened his pace. His eyes picking out where to step and where not to. he almost seemed to glide down the mountain with intensified speed. He stopped again and looked up for them, perhaps they didn't want anything to do with a wolf?

Zeeba snorted and tailed after the wolf, leaping down the mountains in graceful waves until she stood next to him. Her tail lashed twice as she looked at the large black wolf, then herself. She grinned. "So what are you doing in these parts?"
Zuri found herself nowhere near as graceful as Zeeba, and she bowled into Seth when she reached downhill. She blinked slowly. "Ooops, sorry." she said quickly, tail wagging rapidly.

Seth snorted and fell to the ground. He laughed and pulled himself back up onto his paws. "Um... My pack was... taken by the earth quake so I need another pack. Loner life just isn't for me. I was thinking that my brother might take me in with his mate, Courtney." Seth looked below at the base of the mountain. muscox sat grazing in the meadow. He turned back and winked at the sisters then fled down the rocks. His dark pelt blended with the back drop. He slowed his pace and started to walk in between the rocks, instead od on top of them. He finally reached the bottom and swiftly edged along the side. 'Should I wait until they form into a circle or just wing it?' he thought. Seth finally came to the dicision that it would be more entertaining to wait for them to see him. So he walked out into the open. His honey eyes picked out a young muscox. Quickly the the older beasts formed into a sort of shield, and with one breath of air he lept over them. To his suprise he landed on top of the baby. He thought of Wym... Then, in her honer, he used her move. He pulled the beast out from under him and sent it spinning on it's back. As it struggled to stand he trotted away to wait.
As Seth had expected the baby was unable to stand and the rest of the herd deserted it, seeing that it was helpless. Seth turned back to the females and smiled at them as if inviting them to finish it off. He wondered if they ever saw a move like that... it was sertainly unique... infact, he wondered if they ever saw a wolf like himself. His eyes awaited their gaze, they tightened as he realized why Zuri was so familiar... she was so young at heart... like Contessa. He shoved it away, just like all of the other agonizing memories that came into his mind.

Fern sprinted after the noises up ahead. Her lean, beautiful coat gleaming in the setting sun. Her coffee colored eyes darted everywhere. Finally he saw him. "Seth." She whispered. Her eyes picked out two other females, Fern lowered herself and watched them. Seeing dogs reminded her of her beloved pack. Forced to die due to harsh conditions. She had seen the aftermass, seen the terrible, blood-riden bodies that nature had left. And ONE stood out among all the rest. I started to panick, I'm under a pile of rocks... I thought. I squeezed through a small space and into the open, and to my dismay, my pack was dead. A bright orange caught my eye, "Mother!" I turned around, "Wym! Jay! Contessa! Greek! Granite!" All of them... gone. But one brown pelt, mixed with a terrible red, lay in front of me. "No!!" I cried, "NO! Jasper! Jasper, look at me!!!" I demanded. But Jasper didn't move. And so I left, praying that it was a coma. Pleading that he would be ok. Fern snapped her mind back to Seth. With pride she realized he had brought down a muscox. That is a huge kill for one wolf. She smiled warmly and watched him, keeping her mind away from the pack. (Fern needs a mate. This is my last former wolf, don't worry, but would you make a male fo her? Or bring back Jasper!!? ;D I miss Jasper)

Zuri sat down slowly, watching him bring the oxen down. She wasn't that impressed, but it was a good kill. Her neck snapped around to another shape, another wolf. Her ears perked up. "Hey there! Come out!' She barked, her tail wagging happily.
Zeeba had waited for a moment, then she had curled up. Her tail fell over her nose and her eyes widened a bit at the move the wolf had just used... She had seen it before... Where? The red collies head snapped up as Zuri began calling to a wolf, her pelt raised in horror. A snarl formed across her maw... "Who are you?" She asked, raising her hackles up and backing away from Zuri and the others.

Fern snarled back at the over protective dog. "I could ask you the same question." She replied. Fern threw herself down the mountian, her orange fur glinting in the sun. She skidded to a halt next to Seth and watched them with acusing hazel eyes.
Seth's heart skipped a beat. He wasn't alone... "Fern!" Seth leapt at her, pinning her to the ground. His happiness and disbelief overwhelming him. He licked her cheek and laughed. Fern was laughing too, completely unobservant to the witnesses. Seth backed away from her and let her stand. 'I thought I had no family. I thought I was alone in a world of dogs.' He thought. "Zuri and Zeeba, this is my niece, Fern. Fern, this is Zuri and Zeeba." He said. Fern had grown, he realized. Had it really been all that long? Her beautiful orange fur looked almost as if it were glowing. Her beautiful face looked more and more like Seth's sister's. It was then, that he vowed his life for her protection. He wouldn't loose his family again. 'Contessa, Sweetsky Sertha, Wym. All of them... I won't loose her. I WON'T loose her.'

Zeeba backed away from the wolves, her own yellow eyes shimmering a hatred. She didn't care if this wolf was his mate, they were wolves. Zeeba shifted and raised her hackles higher at the look of determination in Seth's eyes. Her head lowered and her eyes narrowed.
Zuri growled at Fern's rude response to her sister, her gentle eyes turned slightly harsh when he licked her...Was she jelous? No, couldn't be. The yellow looking collie backed up to her sister, these wolves were huge. Now, her curiousity was replaced by fear. Two collies couldn't take on two wolves if they decided to turn against each other. Her pelt brushed Zeeba's lightly, and Zeeba relaxed a bit. Both dogs' eyes' were narrowed.

Seth watched stopped play fighting and stood, his well muscled body stopping mid stride. he watched as alarm and anger flashed in the collie's eyes. He would never hurt them, thay had yet to realize how kind he was, how sensitive. "Fern is my niece," Seth began to explain, "She, too, seemed to have the strength needed to survive." He said proudly, "No suprise." He mumbled with a grin.
Fern flicked him with her tail, officially through with thier violent play as well, it was rough even for wolves. But she stood and shook her pelt. She returned to her old, light hearted, and out going self. She rubbed her pelt down the two dogs' and laughed. "It's nice to meet you. Seth here didn't give you to much of a scare did he? He does have that affect on people." She joked. She turned around and exchanged a glance of curiosity to Seth, he always thought that dogs were weak, that they couldn't protect themselves, what changed his mind about these two? She smiled again and continued to sprint down the hill, then with a snort she leaped onto the dying calf and nipped at it's coat.

Zuri blinked and sat down, Zeeba also seemed to relax as her younger sister did. She blinked and watched them curiously, her brown eyes lighter now that the rough housing was over. Zuri bounded over to Fern and leaped onto the female wolf, growling playfully. Her tail wagged as she landed on Fern's back with an 'oomph.' Zuri laughed. "Guess I'm not so coordinated." She muttered, struggled to get off Fern.
Zeeba watched and growled as the wind changed, it was another wolf scent. Male. "Seth, come over here for a moment..." She called to the black wolf, her ears twitching. Was this his brothers scent? It smelled like an expecting fea was with him.
[We should make them go to Cielo de Plata and meet with Zephyr and Dianu.]
